What does property protection include?
Property protection covers stationary guarding of a building or premises, access control, visitor management, regular visual and functional checks (doors, windows, technical systems), alarm response and escalation to police or fire services if needed. We optionally combine personnel with video surveillance, access systems and alarm monitoring as a hybrid concept.
How does property protection differ from industrial security?
Property protection focuses on individual buildings or compact sites — offices, warehouses, data centres. Industrial security covers larger, often multi-zone industrial sites with works fire brigades, shift logistics for hundreds of employees and production interfaces. Both follow the same §34a standard but differ in headcount, shift complexity and integration with operations.
Personnel or security technology — what's smarter?
The answer depends on risk profile and response expectations. Security technology (cameras, alarms) is cheaper and documents continuously but cannot intervene. Personnel respond in seconds and interact with staff and visitors but cannot be everywhere. The economically best solution is usually hybrid: technology covers wide areas, personnel intervene where needed. We design the concept in a free initial consultation.
What drives property protection cost?
Size and complexity of the property (number of access points, floors, technical systems), required guarding density (hourly patrol vs. continuous presence), shift times (night and weekend premiums), contract duration and the share of security technology. Continuous 24/7 guarding of a medium office building typically runs in the low five-figure range per month — exact quotes on request.
Do you handle alarm monitoring as well?
Yes. We connect your fire, burglary and panic alarms to a certified monitoring centre (NSL). On activation we initiate response — site visit by our intervention service, on-the-spot assessment and, where necessary, escalation to police or fire services. Response times are fully logged for insurance documentation.
What is the typical property protection contract term?
Property protection contracts typically run 24 months, sometimes 12 or 36 depending on the investment in the protection concept. The standard notice period is three months to the end of a quarter. For interim guarding (e.g. after termination of a predecessor) we also offer three-month contracts without minimum term at slightly higher hourly rates.
