Industrial security for manufacturing & production

Plant security, gatekeeping and fire safety watch for industrial sites: §34a-certified permanent staff, aligned with shift operations and production compliance.

Overview

Industrial security for manufacturing & production

Industrial and production sites are complex security environments: hundreds of staff working 3-shift operations, inbound and outbound truck traffic, hazardous goods storage, high-value machinery and production-specific risks (fire, sabotage, industrial espionage). Sekuris staffs these requirements with works security teams trained as Werkschutz-Fachkraft (IHK).

We combine stationary gatekeeping, mobile patrol, fire safety watches under DGUV 205-001 and 24/7 incident response into one integrated concept. Shift handovers and incidents are documented in real time via our deployment app — audit-ready for insurers, trade authorities and ISO 9001 / ISO 27001 audits.

Risks we address

Typical risks in industry & manufacturing

  1. 01

    Unauthorised access to plant grounds

Industrial sites with multiple gates, truck airlocks and staff entrances cannot be protected reliably without structured access control. We staff gates with gatekeepers, integrate with existing access systems (Kaba, Salto, Interflex) and maintain digital daily logs.

  2. 02

Fire and explosion risk during hot works

Welding, cutting and burning operations in production halls — and failed fire alarm systems — require fire safety watches with DGUV 205-001 qualification. Sekuris provides staff at short notice, coordinating with the works fire brigade and fire safety officer.

  3. 03

    Industrial espionage and theft

Industrial espionage, sabotage and material theft are real risks — especially around valuable input goods, semiconductor production and SME machinery. Patrols, video analytics and exit checks measurably reduce risk.

  4. 04

    Compliance gaps at audits

Insurers and ISO auditors require seamless documentation: shift logs, patrol-point evidence, incident reports. Without structured plant security software, compliance gaps emerge — Sekuris delivers documentation on demand.

Regulation

Regulatory framework

Plant security at industrial sites is governed by §34a German Trade Regulation Act in conjunction with the Guarding Regulation. Fire-related tasks fall under DGUV Information 205-001. KRITIS-relevant installations (energy, water, chemicals) come under the BSI Act and require enhanced security concepts with BSI-compliant documentation.

  • §34a GewO and Guarding Regulation as legal basis
  • DGUV Information 205-001 for fire safety watches
  • BSI Act and KRITIS Regulation for critical installations
  • Werkschutz-Fachkraft (IHK) as recognised qualification standard
  • ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 as common audit requirements

Our approach

How Sekuris works in industry & manufacturing

  • Plant security teams of permanently employed staff — no subcontractors
  • Werkschutz-Fachkraft (IHK) as minimum qualification, complemented by fire safety and first-aid training
  • Stationary gatekeeping plus mobile patrol with GPS-tagged checkpoints
  • Fire safety watch under DGUV 205-001 available at short notice
  • Real-time documentation via the Sekuris app; clients have live dashboard access
  • Synchronous 3-shift handovers with seamless shift logs

FAQ

What distinguishes plant security from property protection?
Plant security operates on larger industrial sites with shift operations, dedicated works fire brigades and production-specific risks — typically 5–80 officers with synchronised shift handovers. Property protection focuses on individual buildings (offices, warehouses, data centres) with 1–5 staff. Both follow §34a but differ in staffing, shift complexity and integration with operational workflows.
How quickly can you provide a fire safety watch?
For scheduled hot works or failed fire alarm systems we typically deploy fire safety watches within 24–48 hours — faster in emergencies. Staff are qualified per DGUV 205-001 and familiar with coordinating with the works fire brigade and trade authorities.
Do you also cover KRITIS installations?
Yes — we cover sites under the BSI Act with enhanced background checks for personnel, BSI-compliant documentation and interfaces to crisis management and emergency authorities. Setup and personnel selection require 4–8 weeks lead time.
How are shift handovers documented?
Every shift is logged in our deployment app: attendance status, incidents, patrol checks, visitor movements. Handovers to the next shift run through the dashboard in a structured way — no information loss, complete audit trail.
